Renewable Energy Investment in China

Countries across the world invested more than $50 billion US dollars into renewable energy projects in 2006. China alone is expected to account for $10 billion US dollars of investment in 2007, explains "Powering China's Development: The Role of Renewable Energy," released on 14th November 2007 by the Worldwatch Institute, an independent Washington DC research group.

China is well on its way to acquiring fully 15% of its energy from renewable sources by the year of 2020. With the huge financial commitment, China looks poised to pass solar and wind energy leaders in Europe and North America and in the next 3 years become the world's leader in renewable energy, the report notes, adding that, at this pace, China will draw 30% of its power from renewable sources by 2050.

Rrenewable energy conversion and investment is on the top priority list in China. The Chinese government and enterprises are looking for new technology development and investment from the four corners of the world.
